Five Valladolid fans have been sentenced to one year in prison and fined for racist abuse of Vinicius.
The incident took place on December 30, 2022, during the match against Real Madrid.
As he left the pitch, the Brazilian was subjected to severe verbal abuse from the stands, with phrases such as “fucking black man” and “fucking sister”.
The perpetrators were identified through videos and social media posts and were also punished with a four-year stadium ban.
Meanwhile, Real Valladolid banned them for 3.5 years, showing zero tolerance for racism.
This is the first official decision in Spain to recognize racist chants in stadiums as hate crimes.
La Liga itself has legally supported the case, as part of its efforts to eradicate such phenomena.
Vinicius has been the target of several similar attacks, the most famous of which was the incident where a doll wearing his shirt was hung from a bridge in Madrid by Atletico fans.
